# Tools

> Outcome-focused image tools — remove or replace backgrounds, remove objects or logos, reframe, resize ads, recolor, swap materials, and layerize text. Ideogram selects the best model for each tool.

Tools are outcome-focused endpoints: you describe the result you want, and Ideogram chooses and manages the underlying models. Use a tool when you don't need to pick a specific model contract.

| Remove Background     | Isolate the subject on a transparent background                |
| Replace Background    | Keep the subject, generate a new background from a prompt      |
| Remove Object         | Erase an object and fill in the scene                          |
| Remove Logos          | Detect supplied reference logos and erase them                 |
| Reframe               | Extend an image to a new aspect ratio                          |
| Advertisement Resizer | Adapt an ad creative to multiple target sizes                  |
| Colorways             | Recolor masked regions of a product photo to target colors     |
| Material Swap         | Re-render a masked region in the material of a reference image |
| Layerize Text         | Split text from an image into editable layers                  |

If you need direct control over a specific model and its request contract, use the model endpoints under **Generate Images** and **Edit Images** instead.
